A little text.
A quick hop.
From one screen to the next. Move links, notes, and snippets
with a QR scan or a pairing code.
What’s making the hop?
Paste a little something. We’ll turn it into a QR code.
Your QR code goes here
Add your text and hit Generate QR.
Scan it using Receive in HopDrop on your other device.
Scan in HopDrop. Tap to copy.
On your other device: Receive → Start camera.
Scan this code, then choose Copy text.
Your phone’s Camera app chooses its own actions,
such as searching for the text.
Text can hop without a receiving camera.
Open Receive → Use pairing code on your other device. Scan its pairing QR here or type the code, then choose Send text.
The text is encrypted in this browser and sent through a short-lived relay. Both devices need this website online.
Catch a little text.
Show this device the QR code on your other screen.
Your camera, when you’re ready
Camera access starts only when you ask.
Nothing is recorded or uploaded.
This device needs no camera. Create a code, then enter or scan it on the sending device.

A small tool. A clear privacy boundary.Read before sharing sensitive text
Show a QR / Scan a QR: text travels inside the visible QR. HopDrop generates and reads it on your devices; the text and camera frames are not sent to the server. Anyone who sees or photographs this QR can read it. Clearing it does not revoke a captured copy.
Use a pairing code: both devices connect to this website. The sender encrypts text in its browser; the server temporarily holds the encrypted envelope, pairing code, and public keys. It does not receive the plaintext or camera frames. Codes expire after two minutes and the first send uses the code. Someone who sees a code may send unwanted text before you do. This mode needs a working network connection.
Neither mode puts transfer text in URLs or browser storage. Only your appearance preference is saved. You still need to trust this application’s code, your browser, and your devices. Copied text is subject to system clipboard history and synchronization. HopDrop is a general text utility, not a reviewed password-transfer product. The 500-byte limit is provisional pending physical device testing.
